Thanks to all for your wonderful support of Crazy Hair Day. We had some truly wacky hairstyles and our grade ones had heaps of fun AND raised money to support a very worthy cause.

October is Walk-to-School Month!
On Friday, October 23rd, a small band of children, siblings and parents met Mrs Bennett at the Lara Library to walk safely to school.
Walking to school is really great exercise and cuts down the amount of traffic around our Lara streets. The weather's great (well...), so if you can, try to grab a friend or relative and start the day with a walk to school!
Mrs Bennett will be at the Lara Library again this Friday, October 30th, at 8:15. Join her for a walk!

Water Safety and Awareness Day
We had a wonderful day at the pool on Friday, October 16, participating in a range of water safety and awareness activities. Children enjoyed four rotations including: Water Safety, Water Awareness, Water Games and Water Team Activities.
We wore our bathers to school, did some work, had an early snack and play, went to the pool, got changed, got into groups, did our first two activities, had lunch, did the next two activities, got changed, went back to school, had a play and rest and went home. All without anyone losing anything! Wow, what a busy day!
We had races, played 'What's the Time, Mr Wolf?', wore life jackets, practised rescuing people and being rescued, went in the deep end, learnt to tread water and had all sorts of fun which was also very important learning. The swimming teachers were great. They challenged the strong swimmers and supported the less confident. We were really excited to meet Mrs Hartshorne's daughter, Mel. She was one of our teachers! Well done to all of the children who made personal best efforts in the pool.
Thanks to Mrs Ferrarase for organising the great day, and thanks to the parents who came along and helped us at the pool.
